In 1508 Michelangelo initiated the decoration of the Sixtine Chapel and very near, Raphael initiated the decoration the Stanze of the Vatican.

The Stanze of Raphael are 4 rooms decorated with frescoes on the second floor of the Pontifician Palace. This was the most ambitious and huge work of Raphael, one of the most representative examples of all the Renaissance.
