The series is called Weeping woman. The woman is Dora Maar, the great photographer of the Surrealism, who at that time had a relationship with Picasso. She documented with her camera all the Guernica process.
But in fact, that woman who cries in multiple oils, drawings and engravings is a symbol: the universal symbol of the suffering and horror that the cruelty of war causes. It is the continuation of the denunciation that the artist sets out in Guernica. Or in other words, its synthesis.
